Hmmm....how to break into a car?.... I'm assuming you have the key for the ignition? Do you know where the valet switch is for the alarm? If so, put the key in and turn it to the "on" position while the alarm is going off, and hit the valet button. ------------- Q: What's the best nation in the world?

LOL Yeah bro,it's my car.My 1st post was alot better. This alarm has been giving me problems for awhile now.It started when i let the car site and battery went dead.I installed a new battery and the alarm wouldn't stop going off.I disconnected the battery and after awhile found 1 speaker so i cut the wire, connected battery alarm still went off,so i looked for more speakers and found one more cut wire and then no sound but alarm was still arming and going off.Since there was no sound and i wasn't worried about my neighbors killing me,i tried pushing the valet switch while pushing remote button, pushing remote while turning key, etc. Finally it disarmed. Now months later it arms itself again which wasn't bad because the remote started working again. It was like having an alarm without the sound but now the remote isn't working at all and it won't turn off.It does turn off but still armed and goes off when doors are opened or sensors pick up movment.I just want it off for good which is why i said cut the main wire.

I tried that and about 400 other combinations with the remote, valet switch, the key and nothing. If i can get this remote working,i would like to keep the alarm in,even if there is no sound. The red light is coming on,so i don't think it's the battery in the remote. What could it be? Ok, you might want to check out this post. I had asked this question a while back about getting the alarm to shut off when you don't have the remote. Maybe you can try what the second reply in that post says. When the alarm is going off, put the key in and turn it to the "on" position, and hold the valet switch for 2 seconds, and then let go. The alarm will shut off 1 or 2 seconds after that. (Assuming your Clifford works the same way).
I had the hardest time getting this to work, but I finally got it. Maybe you weren't holding the valet button long enough?
If you want to totally disable the alarm, just try to find the module (probably under the dash), and just unplug the plastic harness from the brain. ------------- Q: What's the best nation in the world?

I got it off.I don't know the exact amount of time i held the valet and remote for but it worked.I had the key turned to the on possition, and i hit the remote and valet for about 1-2sec,let go,and it shut. After it shut i used the remote to arm it again and then shut it off,but when i stepped out of the car,the remote was usless once again. At least now i know to push the buttons in pulses and not hold them for long.THANKS

That was my problem, too, I just kept hitting the button rather than holding it. Why did you say you were hitting the remote AND the valet button... you should only need to hit the valet button to turn the alarm off (assuming, like you said, the remote wasn't working correctly).
Maybe you should check your remote's battery. Maybe test it with a multimeter to see if it's dead....or just replace it.
Good job :-) ------------- Q: What's the best nation in the world?

I tried with just the key and valet but it didn't work until i hit the remote(all 3).The red light goes on when i push the remote(the light on the remote)which makes me think that the battery is good, but maybe it is low.I'm gonna get a new battery. Thanks alot I'm sure i'll have more questions real soon :-) I'm usually hanging around the bodybuilding forums and i figured,if we have our BB forums, there must be auto forums, and it turns out i was right.Good thing for that damn car too. No,she is my baby.I like the quik reponses here, too.later
