Hey everyone, I just installed a Aladdin A-2000 car alarm into my '95 honda del sol. I got everything in and wired correctly but the alarm in no way responds. If I unplug the battery and then plug it back in, the alarm will chirp once, but thats it. The remote shows that it has no signal, and the communicator in the car also dosnt respond when I try to put it in Valet mode or program it. I figured that my alarm brain was fried, so I bought another aladdin alarm and figured that if i switched the brain and remotes it should work. But I still get the same thing, no response from the alarm at all..

I wired it as so:

Aladdin (P6 plug)       -     My cars wires

Red                               -    White   (constant 12v)

RED / white                    -   White (constant 12v)

White                           -    BLACK/ white   (starter wire)

Yellow                          -   BLACK / YELLOW   (ignition wire)

Blue                            -    Yellow    (ACC wire)

Black                          -   Ground

Things I DIDNT wire:

-Any of the P9 wires ( mostly for power door locks, which i dont have), Door pin + and - , brake wire, tach, acc2/key-in, glow plug, trunk pin, hood pin, trunk release, aux. in.

Are any of those wires needed for the alarm to work? Any help here would be great.

Did you program the remote to the CPU ? Look at page 14, 15 & 16 for programming instructions. READ CAREFULLY. You must do all these steps in sequence within a 10 second window of time otherwise it will not work properly.

To program the remote I have to be in valet mode correct? The alarm wont even respond when i try to go into valet mode though.. The LED on the communication dosnt light up at all and it dosnt beep. Also I checked pg. 14,15,16 and there isnt anything on programming there..

Page 14 - 16 on the BLACK / WHITE installation manual is where you will find the programming instructions for the remote control, programmable options and the manual valet. Please describe your steps to go into valet to verify that you have the right steps.

My page 14-16 must be diffrent from yours. But anyways, on page 23 starts Program setup mode. And its lists Valet Mode. I have tried the steps it lists and they do not work. They are:

step 1: insert key

step 2: turn key to On position ( engine should not be running )

step 3: Press the program button 3 times as the 1st digit of default password is '3'.

step 4: turn the ignition off

step 5: turn the iginiton on

step 6: Press the program button 3 times as the 2nd digit of default password is '3'.

Step 7: Turn the ignition to off.

step 8: with one beep sound, the default password is entered and the system is set to Valet mode.

Those are the steps it lists. However when i try that it neither beeps nor does the LED come on...

The last time something like this happened to me, it was the communication module. Change out the CM and post your results.

Make sure that your P10 PINK wire is attached to your P6 BLUE wire

Yes! That was it!! Thank you Jeff! But there is still one problem.. The alarm is not going off when the shock sensor is hit.. The little red and green lights light up when i hit it, but the alarm wont go off and my remote dosnt show of any disturbance.. I checked the programming to make sure the sensors were on and they are. How ever the alarm will go off if I open my door.. Whats up? I have tried two diffrent shock sensors.. and my car is out of valet mode.. Any idea?

i would like to know too about the shock sensor. Mine doesnt work either even to the highest setting. The only time it will work if I press the A button on the remote while the sensor is going off. That's when my alarm will go off but other than that it doesnt go off.
