i have an impulse 990 model, i knwo its crappy and all, but too late now, i have it. i've had it one for about a year now, and it is working fine. but i tried to rewire everything to make sure all my connections are clean. now after i am done, my siren won't turn off. it isn't loud, its probably 25 percent of what it use to be. and when i press arm or disarm it would get loud like how its suppose to be. can someone please tell me what wrong. thanks

sounds like you have a bad GROUND  to me, try to run two test cables straight to the battery, one for ground and one for 12 volts and see if it works, if it does then either run them permanently  to the battery or get 12v from the switch and make sure your car is grounded from the battery to the chassis. The best connection is straight to the battery but try to apply some grease to the posts to avoid corrosion of the alarm wires.

your arm and disarm won't work because the alarm is feeding from the siren's ground so once you remove the connection to the siren everything else is intermittent.
