I'm preparing to install a Clifford Avant Guard 4 in a 95 VW Jetta. I work at an auction yard where we sell alot of these cars (400+ a month). I never see aftermarket alarms in these cars, is this because there is problems as a result? I know aftermarket accessories can cause problems with the immobilizer equipped models (99+), but havent seen problems with models of this year. Any input would be appreciated.

The vehicle is basic with no real problems with electrical wiring for aftermarket accessories. Here is the wiring datasheet for this car and as you can see, it's a basic system without too many bypasses:

Notes:
*1 On the 4 cylinder model find a green at the coil on the firewall.  The VR6 has a BLACK/ purple at the coil pack.  The coil pack is located on the right side of the motor towards the front.  *2 Requires a double pulse to unlock.  *3 Hidden release tab for light switch on upper left side of switch.  Use relays to isolate the switch side of parking light wires from seeing 12v, or the igniton circuit will pulse with the light flash.  It is also possible to use the hazard lights.  The colors are BLACK/ white and BLACK/ green, and are positive trigger.  They can be found at the alarm module or steering column.  *4 Gray wire grounded by switch at rest. Use a relay to isolate the switch side of the trunk release wire from seeing 12v.  *5 Use a single pulse to disarm without unlocking.  *6 Each power window motor is controlled by a module, the module and the window motor are built together as one piece, not allowing access to the motor wires  *7 The alarm module is located behind the headlight switch.   *8 There is a positive trigger key sense wire at the ignition switch or in the radio harness.  The wire color is BROWN / red.
