Hi all,

My audiovox ASP ( or APS) 785 prestige alarm transmitter doesn't work. I think it lost all the codes with my alarm, because it ran out battery for a few weeks, before I installed another one in, so I got it somewhere got reseted. Right now, I cannot use it to turn on the alarm or off the alarm, strange. Any idea?

Hi, I've tried that. It works fine, except the remote start. When I reprogrammed it, and pressed it twice, it does nothing except chirps. It will not remote start. AM I doing something wrong ?

Well, it depends on what kind of chirps.

Those units have a feature where they can make a small chirp before remote starting----some installers leave it on; some turn it off-----did your unit do that before?

If it's making the chirps that say "i'm about to remote start," and then the car doesn't start, there is definitely a problem---if you had a shop install it for you, have them find the problem and fix it.

But if it's making some regular-sounding chirps, you have probably made a mistake in programming. Maybe you programmed it as a lock or unlock button?
