I started installing my alarm today.  I'm pretty sure I hooked up the wires correctly.  I cannot arm or disarm the car but when I listen carefully under the hood the siren is going off very softly.  I was wondering what other connections I would of left out.  Is there anything that goes with the starter wire?  Try to help me out guys.  thanks

check your ground on the alarm (not the siren) make sure you actually do have a good ground .direct to chassis woulkd be a great connection you may have it to secondary metal and this may not be a ground.

I'm checked the ground and it's pinned to teh chasis of the car.  What else can it be?

????

make sure you have a ring terminal on the end that is grounded.

it would also help to know what unit you put in and also what kind of car you have....

Try to see if you have 12 V between + and - then check that the + from ignition is not a direct + ( all measurements on alarm brain ).
