Hey guys, I'm really just wondering what you guys think of this alarm. It goes for a good price on eBay and I'm thinking about getting it, since virtually no other DEI brand alarm sells online (that I can find).
Also, my car is a 5spd (93 Prelude), and I DO NOT want to mess with remote start. What exactly would have to be done to have the full functioning alarm but not the remote start?

I'm pretty sure you can just not hook up the remote start wires. There's a few harnesses for the remote start that plug into the module, so I'm sure you can just leave those out. ------------- Q: What's the best nation in the world?

Hey Velocity Motors, you seem to be the person to ask questions around here. Can you verify this?

Yes, you can install that alarm without the remote start. Pretty much don't install the satellite relays and you'll be fine. I don't think it's worth getting the 554t if you don't use remote start feature. -Jimmy

make sure you hook up the ignition wire from the relay pack, otherwise your alarm will NOT reset itself after it has been triggered.

Well, I like all the other features including the 2-way pager. If there was a way that I could make the alarm make sure it is not in gear, before it tried to start then I would hook it up.

So, I leave out the "Relay Satellite Key Inteface" part and I leave out the Remote Start Harness correct?

Anyone care to give me a more detailed answer? As in, exactly which wires do I NOT connect and which ones do I STILL connect, to not use remote start but to keep starter kill and all the other features.

The only wire you need to hook up is the ign wire on the relay harness (should be pink, the alarm senses that the ign is on through this wire). You don't need to hook up any other wires that deal with the remote start.

Awesome, thanks so much guys. I've been doing a lot of reading and research and I think I can tackle this job. Plus, I have an alarm currently installed, so that will make it slightly easier. Is the "Relay Satellite Key Inteface" part of the remote start? Thanks!

Or is that "Relay Satellite Key Inteface" the "relay pack" that you guys are referring to?

Okay, sorry for so many questions. But, do I need to connect anything on the "Secondary Harness". It had the "wait-to-start input" and "factory disarm/special accessory output". My car is a 93 Honda Prelude as a reminder.

Something else that may be worthwhile. The hornet 554t has a toggle switch. One of the wires on this toggle switch must read ground for the remote start to engage. Most cars have a wire telling the bcm etc. if a car is in neutral or park. If your car has this then the remote start will not engage unless it is in neutral or park (neutral I guess for a stick). I'm not sure if this could apply to you, but I figured it is worth posting.
