I'd like to put pins/switch on my CF hood (ground) so if the hood is popped, the wire goes off.. anyone do this on a CF Hood successfully?

You can just use any standard hood pin switch that comes with pretty much every alarm around. (With the exception of some that come with tilt switches, damn fords..) Doesn't make any difference what the hood is made out of as long as the switch itself is mounted to metal. Just put a fiberglass hood on my car and plan to put a hood pin in won't be any different than putting one on a car with a cf hood, steel hood, etc..One thing you might want to do is try to get the pin to sit on one of the supports on the underside of the cf hood rather than just on a flat spot of the hood. Good luck

I have run into this a couple times where I work. That hood just wasnt heavy enough to push the pin in all the way.  What I use is a DEI magnetic switch, its P/N 8600, and I mount it in the front of the hood. They have worked great for me. Just a thought for you..
