Howdy guys,

I'm installing a Clifford AG4 in my wife's 2002 Explorer SportTrac.  I'm having a hard time figuring out the clutch switch.  The slide switch has six wires going to it and has contacts at the top which I assume are for the speed control, and two different contacts at the bottom for the starter, but I still can't figure out which wires to jump for the bypass.

Any help would be appreciated.

   Thanks, Steve

Please tell me this ain't for a remote start!!!  Please!!!!

if it is, you might wanna check you local laws, but as far as I know, most states Say its illegal to install a remote start in a manual transmission, which last time I checked this is the only reason you'd need a Clutch by-pass....Reason...people forgetting its in gear, trying to start the car, and running a kid over...IT HAS HAPPENED!!!

I'm pretty sure you could glue it down, and it would work, but it'd be best to find the wiring, IMHO, I only had a two wires coming from a switch under my clutch, so it was pretty obvious I just had to cut and crimp, but I'd use your multimeter and go through testing what gets voltage with switches in or out,etc.. or if it works that way, I don't know I haven't seen that care.

DeathsJester12V, calm down, the AG4 has safty feature called SafeStart, which legaly allows you to use remotes start without posing  any kind of threat.

Yes, you'll need to jump the PINK to the PINK/WHITE.  Bottom two wires on the plug.

Grslc, most manual transmission remote starts use this feature.  How it works:  You have to first put the car in neutral then apply the park brake.  After that you turn the remote start on and shut the key off.  The remote start will stay running and you then leave the vehicle.  At that point you shut the remote start off and lock the doors.  If the door is opened before the next time you attempt to remote start, the car will not start.
