Need some help bad!

Ok, here's what I got, it's my first alarm install with remote start with it.  It is a Hornet 553T, with keyless entry and remote start, I got the wiring schematic from DEI, and checked out the one in the Installer Database, and the only difference I noticed was the tach wire, DEI says the PURPLE / white wire coming from the coil, and the I.D. says its the white one on the coil.  Well heres the problem, the car has Passlock 2, and I bought the AUTOPASS GM Passlock I & II Passkey & VATS interface kit, and I started the car cut the yellow wire, and tested the resistance on the key side, swaped leads, and came up with 1.775 for the resistance.  So I moved the pins on the DIP switch to the right resistance from the diagram.  I then try the remote start on the key, and it cranks sometimes, when it doesn't I unplug the interface kit, replug, and then it remote styarts on its own.  I cut it off, and try the remote start and it works until I start it up with the key,  then it will try and crank then automatically die.  I am sure its the immobilier and that the reisistance I have set might not be correct, but I have tried many time, and come up with 1.775.  The only other thing I think it might be is the tach wire, the tach wire only fluctuates between .8 and .9 not 1 to 6 volts.  I have connected to the PURPLE / white from DEI's schematic.  The customer has the car now, but I am gonna be fixing it Monday.

Anyone have any ideas or something I might have not done right?

The BLACK lead was on the BLACK wire coming from the passlock system.  There was only 2 wires, the YELLOW, and BLACK.

The interface kit didn't say to do anything with the white wire, so I left it alone, it just said to find the resistance of the yellow key side and the black wire.  So I cut the yellow wire in half, stripped it, and used the leads of the dmm, black on the black wire, and red on the yellow key side, then swapped the leads and tested, got the avg resistance, and set the switches.  It didn't say what to do with the white wire.

Another question, The remote start cranks the car, but then it immediately dies.  Would that have more to do with the immobiliser system, or could it have something to do with the tach wire?
