I have a no name power window module. I have three questions, My alarm has a 500ma out put and the window module has a 500ma input. Will I need a relay to controll the power window module?
Second the schematic on the box has the power window module connecting directly to the window switch cut the window wire and run another wire directly to the window motor. I assume I wont need a relay for that?
And third, the schematic has the switch to window motor cut and going through the module. Will this still allow for me to manually use the windows with the switch?

Ok here's what I think for the first question, no you don't need a relay simply hook your output to your input since both are ground signals Second you don't need a relay for that because power window modules already have built-in relays just hook it up as the diagram says Third, the power window module acts as a bypass allowing you to still use your windows under normal conditions so don't worry they'll still work normal if you install it right good luck!

thanks, one last question. the alarm instruction manual suggests using a 500ma grounded whil armed output for optional window modules. if it is a constant ground wont this cause my window motors to constanly work? or do most window modules have a timer or something?

Ok I believe this is a window roll up module. So for this you'll use the armed signal from the alarm usually the same armed signal used for the starter kill so when you arm the system the windows will go up. Normally window roll up modules have an armed input, armed output, so you need to cut the armed signal wire from the alarm and connect the input and the output from the window module. otherwise if you don't split it your windows will roll up when you turn the ignition off or on. I don't know if this makes sense to you it's kind of late but this is how it works. Or you can save all of that and just hook up the window module like the diagram says, and use a channel from the alarm to activate the window module. good luck any other ? let me know

So now I am confused. It does hook to the starter kill for activation but it has one wire and it just says accessory item. I thought this was to run an additional accessory, but it needs to be hooked to something to work?

Some window units have only 1 wire other then the ones that hook up to the windows (small guage). Yes, this hooks up to the starter kill output of the alarm
AND...
Some window units have 2 small guage wires (like omega au93-4). 1 wire is usually orange and goes to the starter kill output of the alarm. The other wire goes out from the unit to the starter relay itself
The difference:
In the first example the wire must be spliced/tapped into the output from the alarm going to the starter kill relay and you should have to install a diode yourself.
In the second example the unit is saving you the trouble. You take the output from the alarm and connect it (only) to the window unit. You then take the 2nd wire from the window unit and run it down to your starter kill relay. They have install a diode in the circuit for you. you do not have to connect the 2nd wire if you do not want to. It's just an option to easy installation.

The stupid thing didnt come with instructions. The diagram is on the module itself. THis is the jist of it though. The alarm manual suggested the use of a diode before the starter kill relay so the diode is installed and the window module is hooked up before the diode,

What you need to do is find an activation wire that outputs 500ma ( either continuous, latched or 4-6 second pulsed ). This is what the window modules do: - When activated through the activation wire, the module will operate as long as there is a pulsed (-) signal.
- If you hook up a 1 second pulsed output, the window module will only operate for 1 second ( keep in mind that SOME window modules only require a pulsed output while other require an output long enough to close the window )
- Now, it doesn't matter if you have a constant output on this wire because the internal voltage sensor will detect a voltage spike when the window is closed or open all the way. The module will automatically cut power off to the windows and it will not drain your battery at all
