Am I reading it right that the unit will unlock the doors (disarm system too?) when you are just within a certain range of the car?

doe sit arm when you move away a certain distance too?

No it doesn't have the perimeter unlock feature that you see on some models of KE units. This is a passive/active but not a passive perimeter.
