Attempting to install a remote starter in a 99 Oldsmobile Intrigue. I have the power harness all hooked up and happy, but I am having a lot of trouble getting at the Passlock II wires for a relay+resistor bypass. I can see where two wires that look like they might be Passlock wires exit the lock cylinder, but they're not the standard Passlock colors and I can't get to them.

I've tried...

1) Removing the driver's kick panel (4 10-mm bolts)

2) Removing the radio and climate control heads - still no access to wiring.

3) Removing passenger kick panel. This was where I got at all the ignition wires, just before they enter the fuse block. I verified this using GM vehicle schematics from my local dealer.

BUT I can't get at the @#$(*& passlock wires!

Anybody able to help?!

Thanks,
Dave

You should consider using a bypass module. That way, you can totally bypass the passlock without even having to get to the wires, cuz you wont even have to cut them. It will save you a LOT of pain and headaches.

You will need to go either directly to the ign cylinder or get them at the bcm. At the cylinder will be the easiest way to identify them.

I have a 98 Olds Intrigue, i suggest useing a bypass like DEI part 555L. Makes the job alot easier and faster, and is easy to install.

Thanks for the advice - I have the parts necessary to bypass the Passlock at start time (a relay and resistor assortment)... Wouldn't I have to get at the wires anyway to install a bypass like the 555L? I would like (if possible) to keep the system functioning normally when remote start isn't engaged....

Thanks,
Dave
