i have a clifford self powered backup siren.  (it's the type with the key to shut it off)  it didn't come with the instructions.    it has 4 wires coming out of it.  (red, black, yellow, and white)  which wires of the alarm/car do these wires go to?  any help is greatly appreciated.  And thanks for any help!!

black = ground

red = + trigger

yellow = - trigger

white = constant 12v

I may have mixed up the wires but I'll double check for you.  Also you should have spent a little extra money and got the clifford back-up sirens that don't have a key.  The only way to shut them off is to hook it back up.  The one's with a key can be turned off by a thief but we won't get into how.

i bought this at an inventory close out at a local electronics store for $10 looks brand new.  i just wanted to add it to my alarm so the money wouldn't go to waste.  anyways,  please double check for me i really don't want to fry my siren.  and do you know if all the wires are used?  or just 3 out of the four wires?  Thanks very much for your help!

Hi do you know if your alarm has a negative or positive trigger output, that would help with the hook-up.

the alarm is a nova 200 LE ( on of those sub companies of clifford).  it has a negative trigger output for the siren.   this was my guess:

red -12 volts constant

black- ground

yellow- ignition 12 volt

white- negative siren output

does this sound right?  please get back to me.  thanks again for taking the time to help.

Hi cvek

I looked around the shop I'm at but we did not have any clifford sirens in stock, we should be getting some very soon.  I installed a clifford back-up siren a few months ago but the wire colors were different, they went like,

black = ground

red = pos trigger

blue = neg trigger (not used on this one cause it goes by the trigger output of alarm)

white = constant 12v fused

I will get back to you asap as soon as I get word on the proper wiring.

Hi cvcek

Here you go

black = ground

red = alarm's 12v constant

yellow = trigger

white = to battery or other constant power

The only problem with these is when you or your mechanic has to disconnect the battery to work on the car.....
