I was just told I could buy an aladdin a-2000 for under $189. The problem is, it sounds really nice, but I have not heard anything about it from anyone. Plus as far as I know the shops wont do installs unless you buy the alarm from them. Basically is this a good investment to buy and try to install myself? Is this hard to install, or self - explanitory with the directions?

It depends on the car that your installing it in. We sell these for $ 185.00 USD at our shop and we give full tech support for all of our products for people who want to install themselves. We have had only one CPU returned for a manufacturer defect out of about 200 units that we've sold. I would highly suggest this brand to you, but it's your descision. I am installing it into a 1995 Acura Integra LS. I had a previous alarm in it that is still wired but not working. i took the horn out of it but im sure most of the wires are stil ran everywhere. How long will this take if i install it? I heard anywhere from 6-10 hrs. Is this true?

If the alarm in there was hooked up poperly and all connections are still good, this should only take you about 3 hours to do. If you have to take out and unsolder ( if they soldered ) the connections, then you will have to spend a little longer but all the wires will be there no searching , just take out the old and put in the new !!. The Acura is an eady vehicle to install into, just make sure you double check the wires that the old alarm was using for circuit verification with a DMM. ------------- Jeff

Ok well all this is greek talk to me, and im sure it will be tough to do. I just need to find out where all of it is now, and where it it will go. I know there is a switch under the steering console somewhere and the led light is by my E-brake handle. Just need to know what the brain looks like or where it may be. Any diagrams or anything?

The installation of the alarm brain can be any where in the fron of the car. Look with a flash light under the driver dash of the car and try to find a black box that is tie strapped to wire looms or to the sterring column. It may also be in the center console or under the radio so check these places too. The alarm brain will have several wiring harnesses attached to it. Follow the LED wire or the VALET switch wires to the alarm brain. From there you can take apart the tape that the installer wrapped the wires with and take out the alarm brain. There will be writing on the casing and post what you have when you find this information. Someone here will be able to help you on the wiring schematics for that alarm system ( I hope ) and if not you will need to use a systematic approach and find the OEM wires. I can email you a wiring diagram for your car and all you need to do is find those wires and attach them to the Aladdin a-2000 wiring harness. ------------- Jeff

I saw on your web site that the alladin will install on a standard trans as well as an automatic. does it have all the safety stuff to make sure the car in not in gear.

yeah it does.. i ahve it on my manual car and works great... i also sell them too.. same price... $185.. of course plus shipping... i'm in canada too.

The safety is very good on these systems. I have not had anyone push their car through the front of a building yet that have had these alarms installed with the safety devices activated. It's a physical activation ( not electronic ) so it can't ever re-engage itself to automatic mode if the battery dies or if there is an electrical spike in the system that resets the CPU.It's great . ------------- Jeff

Integra-T let, Im from Mexico and I buy the aladdin a-2000 to Jeff from Velocity motors, He sent it to me, The alarm is very good and it have a lot of functions. I recommend it. I put the alarm in a Grand prix ´94. Im very satisfy with the alarm. there was my first alarm instalation too. Try to install it. !!! ------------- J.F.L.L.

How does the remote start on a manual tranny safety feature work? It will not start unless the parking brake is up and is in neutral?

The Aladdin works through a sequence that you have to initiate everytime you wish to use the remote start. If this sequence is not performed, the remote start will not work.
