I am installing a Code Alarm remote start on a 1997 Pontiac TransAm and am having trouble finding the right wire for the brake switch. The database says that it is a LT Blue or White wire off the switch above the brake pedal. I have a Pink and also a Brown. Is there a way to test which one I need.

If the wiring diagram is the same as it is for a Grand Am the Pink and Brown wires you are referring to go to the cruise control module.  I'm assuming it's the same because the brake wire is lt. blue on the Grand Am also.

On mine I had 2 switches, one which controled the brake lights and another that controled the cruise.  Make sure you're checking both...... they are in the same location with one just above the other.  The lt. blue wire is in a 2 wire plug and will show +12v when the brake pedal is pressed.

Thanks bud...i never thought of cruise...i was thinking more along the lines of having something to do with the abs or something. I'll go tomorrow and check for another switch...Thanks again.
