Hello,
I'm currently working on something where I only want to have about 50% power or so going to my high beam headlight bulbs when my low beams are on, and I know how to wire up all the relays and everything. I'm just not sure how to reduce voltage from 12 volts down to less voltage, in order to run the lights at about 50% power. Does anyone know how to do this?

Search the internet for a DRL system. This could give you close to what you are looking for. Also there are kits that allow you to run both sets of lights at the same time and mightcut the brightness down.
parts-express.com
performanceproducts.com
these might have it.

So is there not really a fairly easy way to decrease voltage? I thought about using diodes, but I didn't see any diodes that can handle as much power as will be flowing through a wire for a high beam headlight.

jc whitney is another website.
The units I have seen have big heatsinks on them.

Here, exactly what you are looking for and from a website that many here get car alarms from.

Thank you for the link and the help. I just found this link, which describes how to make your own DRL system, and has the information I need in order to do this, so I'm going to try making my own system soon. :) -------------
