Just curious if any of you guys favore one over the other. I am a fan of both . For the most part, I do Voltage check rather then Tach. Every now and then I switch to tech. I know most say do tech. Less risk of car coming back with starter problem. I have yet to have a car come back for this reason that wasnt cause by someone messing with the alarm . Only times they've come back for that reason was when dealer unpluggs brain. Or when i had a customer do an engine swap at the dealer. That car was hooked up with the tach. Still came back because the brain needed to relearn the tach.

What about you guys?

Autopage750LCD - Silverado '01 - Voltage
Unit failed to notice engine didn't start several times. Never re-cranks running engine

Excalibur Gold - Blazer '99 - Voltage
Unit starts no prob, attempted restart several times when engine failed to start (dead fuel pump). Only 1 time has it thought it started but didn't

Crimestopper - Geo '92 - voltage no tach
No difference either way in starting/crank time. Haven't tried disabling engine to test if it know are not.

The only r\s that I actually like using tachless is the Omega RS4LX(this is by far the best tachless unit on the market). Otherwise I notice most other brands(including CODE and DEI) do not register the voltage drop and keep shutting off(especially with GM vehicles).

I always use the Tach signal except when using the Autopage 750 which works better in voltage sensing mode believe it or not. I have never seen it before, but the car actually shut off a couple of times in tach mode, and then tried to restart like it thought the car shut off. Wierd!
