Hey All,
I got a Viper model 300 and I was wondering what I needed to have this thing remote start capable. I know it's a older model and do not know if it had that ability (via a add on module or relays). Thanks for the info.

that alrm should have a red white wire comming from the brain off of the main harness and this is a negative trigger which is normally activating a trunk pop or something of that sort you can test this wire by using a multi meter or equivalent and placing the pos lead to constant 12 volts and the negative lead that wire. and press and hold the second button until you get a reading if you dont get the reading try all the wires and then you will have to determine if the alarm even has a second channel which is should even though it is old.

mecp certification is not always needed. I have it and it has not helped me out at all. my experience out shines it.
Jon (or anybody who is reading this),
It does have a red w/ white stripe wire on it and it does work. That is the one wire that I tested and works like a charm (so this has a channel 2). Now where do I go from here? And if I need to get some sort of external module, where I can I pick one of those up at?
Also, I have the possability of getting a 04 WRX STi and I am wondering where I can get a wiring diagram for that. Thanks for any info that you can give me.

You can also get a cheap add-on one, too, like a Bulldog module or something like that. My friend had a similar Viper alarm, that had a spare channel. We got a cheap bulldog one (like $35) and put that in, and it works well. Although, if you can find a DEI one for the same price, I would go with DEI over Bulldog.
