I installed an AviStart 3300 in a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab.  When I remote start the truck, sometimes the A/C compressor kicks in and some times it doesn't, the blower always comes on, sometimes the ABS and parking Break light stays on, and to top it all off the 'Check Engine' light came on after a few minutes of driving.  What I want to know is, did I screw up the computer, by not have all of the ignition and accessory wires connected.  Can someone tell me what I did wrong?

The only wire I have hooked up to the remote start unit is GREEN & ORANGE, YELLOW which is the starter, and the regular power wires and that’s it.  The radio does not come on (BLACK/ WHITE wire).

What other wires do I need to connect, and do I need Diodes and Relays?

If nobody can help, Could I get a Wiring Diagram for the truck?

Try using the search function foor 2003 or 2003 Ram. There is a new post on this vehicle every week.

Yeah no kidding. For three months it was a Trailblazer every week, now it's a Ram every week.

There are two ignition and two accessory wires that need to be powered under remote start, and I've detailed them in previous posts.

You didn't screw up anything, you just failed to energize all the required ign and acc wires at the harness. Once you correct this all the mentioned problems SHOULD stop.

IT WORKED!... Only one thing happened. I did a diagnostic on the truck when it was started remotely, and started with the key.  When started remotely the only error message I got was a failer to receive data to instrument cluster; (probably just the seat belt sensor and other things on the instrument cluster), and with the key, no errors. So it works fine. No more check engine light, and the A/C works, those were my only concerns.

Thanks again!

What color was your second ignition wire and where did you find it?

The Color Was Red With White it was on the ignition harness, but that doesn't mean that it will be the same in yours it may also be just red. Check it with a test light, make sure your getting 12v in "On" and "Crank" positions.

Follow the Wiring Diagram in this Post.
