Hi. I read the thread about clearing the SRS light that is easily triggered on Hondas and Acuras. We had this on a 2001 Acura 3.5. There was a link given then that seemed to work. The link given then doesn't seem to work anymore. If anyone has any info, it'd be appreciated.

The SRS clearing procedure from the link is not correct. Here is the right method. There will be a YELLOW 2 pin connector in a blank cavity in the fuse panel. It is less than 1/2" square and normally has green wires. Ignition off, unplug this connector from the fuse box. The procedure requires shorting and unshorting the terminals in this connector and a momentary switch in the jumper wires used will make it much easier. Step 1: Short the terminals and then turn ignition on. Step 2: When the SRS lamp goes out - unshort terminals. Step 3: When SRS lamp comes on again short terminals. Step 4: when SRS lamp goes out unshort. Successful code clear indicated by 2 rapid flashes of SRS lamp and then it will go out and stay out. Cycle ignition again to verify codes cleared and lamp out.

Every Honda/Acura from 95 to 03 (some 94's) uses this method for SRS codes. The location of the diagnostic plug can be different between models. The dealer techs use a scantool and may not be willing to reveal the manual method I described. I guess they want the work for themselves?
