Has anyone put an alarm system in the new 2004 maxima? I have heard rumors from a car security installer I deal with that its almost imossible to put an aftermarket security system into the 6th gen. He said that one installed tried to do it an once the alarm was connected to the door locking mech. it burned them out.
Have any of you heard that nissan is planning on releasing an aftermarket security system that adds automatic start and vehicle security to their cars?

not immpossible at all
to get the lock and unlock wires test them with the key locking and unlock in the driver door
lock is red
unlock blue
you have to get the wires inside the drivers door.
factory alarm arms and disarms with locks
key sense wire is blk/red in the ign harness

sounds pretty odd to what the installer said. i dont think nissan would go an extensive task to upgrade some unsual lockin mechanism like that. I believe if the car uses a 12volt battery, then anything is possible.

I know it sounds strange but I recently joined a Maxima forum and have been reading al types of stories about the alarms shorting out the lights, the raido etc and nissan voiding warranties. If the car has a factory immobilizer and a computer coded key is there reall a need for an aftermarket alarm.

but the alarm doesnt affiliate with the immobilizer, unless there might be problem bypass the immoblizer when remote start. besides that, the alarm is consist of couple neg and postive wire, right? and some wire for the lock mechanism and thats all there is.
-what you said about alarms shorting out lights, thats probably a bad installer whom shorted out himself. re-think about what you just said. could that be the real or exact case to the impossiblity of puttin an aftermarket alrm on it?
-if i have the wrong idea, plz explain in more details to let other installer be aware of this issue. cause what youve said doesnt explain to why you cant install an aftermarket alarm?

everyone here heard about the 2003 model's headlight being easily jack, right? well, even though we talkin about the new model, lets just say that if they design the headlight like the 03 model, then how sophisticate can the electronic part be in this new model maxima?(LOL) so yall do the thinking.
