I have an '03 GMC Sierra Ext Cab 2x4.  It came with the factory keyless entry and alarm.  How difficult is it to add remote start?  What are your recommendations and what would I need.  Thanks for any help.

I can't tell you specifically about that vehicle but before you add a remote starter to your existing keyless, you might want to consider the range. Most factory remotes don't cover more than 30 feet vs an aftermarket which can easily cover a few hundred feet.

its almost the same as installing a stand-alone RS unit. its just a matter of getting the pulses from the door lock to activate the RS.

shouldn't be a problem, but you most likley need a few extra things, suck as a security bpass unit for passlock III (you better double check this!) and a data bus interface for the power locks

I wouldn't mind replacing the factory keyless and security with aftermarket if it would make it easier...
