Do you know where I can order a "5 Wire Alternating (+) 12 V DC" Door Lock switch as showen on this site under Door Locks.  I plan to add an additional Door Lock Switch near the tail gate door of my 1993 Ford Explorer.  It was not an option in 1993.

Don't really need to order the five wire switch. Just get a three wire switch and two relays.

www.caralarmz.com you can either get a "DLR" for 7 bux or a Double Socket/Double Relay for like 11 bux...I like the double socket relay...

He's right. It doens't make much sense to run thick wires to carry the current all the way back to the front (5 wires!).

If you have wired in an alarm then just tap into the lock unlock wires of the brain (green and blue) and run 2 wires back to a 2way momentary switch. Run the ground wire somewhere close to the switch and bingo. Locks controlled from the rear.

If you haven't wired in an alarm then look on this website on how to install the relays.

This will make it eaier to find a switch that works. You could try the dealer and just get a door switch and modify. www.autloc.com (no "K") has lots of switches. You just have to order from soemwhere else. so search autoloc sellers.

Thanks to all who helped me with advise!  I will use the 2 DLRs as suggested.

Thanks again!
