I am installing a DEI 554t on a 99 civic. There are about 8 wires going into the switch that trips the hazards. I have been sending +12 to a few wires with no luck. Anyone have any experience tripping hazard lights with their alarm installs on a honda?

Why are you wanting to use the hazzard lights as opposed to parking lights?

I would like all 4 turn signals to flash as opposed to stay on constantly while the alarm is going off. Do most people just have the 4 turn signals stay on as opposed to flashing?

easy, find the wire that goes to each light, diode isolate each wire and use the park lamp output via a relay to drive it all.

the DEI 554t parking light output does the flashing (pulsing of the 12 volts) , is that what you are saying?

The parking light wire on the 554T is going to do just what you want it to do, just connect the 554T's White wire to the RED / Black (+) parking light wire on the civic at the fuse box...Once you do this, when the alarm is triggered, all 4 parking lights (turn signals) will flash not just stay lit up.

skylurker is on the right track----the turn signal bulbs are far brighter than the parking lights, and catch much more attention. Just having the parking lights flash looks kinda stupid---how many factory alarms do that?

skylurker, if you're seeing a boatload of wires at the hazard switch, that's a sign that it isn't going to be simple and easy to activate the factory hazards. Plus, if you did that, the hazards would be flashing under remote start, which looks stupid.

Instead, do what cool_greg suggests. On Hondas, it is SO easy to gain access to the light bulbs.....just go to the trunk, and make a note of the right and left turn signal bulbs' wire colors.

Then, find the same colors up front somewhere. Maybe in the driver's kick panel, or at the fuse box, or even at the hazard switch.

Then split your alarm's parking light output with two diodes, and connect those to the two turn signal wires. When your alarm is triggered, the bulbs will flash. When the remote start is on, the bulbs will be on steady.
