Is there anything new with this vehicle that I will need to worry about as far as installing a remote start or will I still only need either the 555F or the 555U? Any information on this would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Hey Sean,

The '04's are alot like the Expeditions/Navigators as far as wiring goes. The use of a bypass module is also necessary.

Hey Jeff, glad to see you're still helping people out on here. Am I correct in assuming that the bypass module I'll need is a 555u? Would a 555F work on this vehicle?

Sean, you will require the 555U for bypass of this vehicle until someone is able to make a proper bypass module for the E-PATS system on the newer Ford vehicles.

My shop buys blank keys from www.howardkeys.com for the Fords that don't have modules made for them (recent Taurus, Ranger, Expeditions...). Since Ford only includes 2 keys with there vehicles, customers usually aren't excited about having to give up one of their keys. We sell the keys to the customers and make some money, and the customer saves a lot of money instead of paying the $60-$100 that Ford usually charges. You'll be suprised how cheap they are when buying a dozen or so. They program just like the old PATS keys: Key 1 on for 5 secs, key 2 on for 5 secs, hold new key near key cylinder and remote start the vehicle.    Put key in 555U, or use the relay and 22 gauge wire trick and your done.

Code Alarm makes a full set of bypasses for Fords that require no keys. I've used them on pretty much every new ford on the road with no problems. Might want to look into these if you guys are still messing with keys! Just need 2 keys to program the bypass..We haven't done the new 04 F-150s yet but I'm sure it won't be long will add some info as soon as we get it.

You have any links for these bypasses? I checked there websites, but they don't have any info on bypasses.

Send an e-mail to crimestoppers tech support ask about what you want and where to get it. They will reply within an hour most times. Chuck

"Try Bypasskit.com

It doesn't help, they don't make anything yet for the newer Expedition, Taurus, Sable, Ranger. In this months industry magazines, I saw an ad for a new bypass from them to be available in Fall 2003.

"Code Alarm makes a full set of bypasses for Fords that require no keys. "

They work on an 03 Taurus, 03 Ranger, 03 Expedition?? You do realize there are 3 different Transponder systems for Fords?

Forget about Crimestopper, I'd rather just use the keys we bought for $12 a piece until DEI or Trilogic comes out with a bypass.

<<<<They work on an 03 Taurus, 03 Ranger, 03 Expedition?? You do realize there are 3 different Transponder systems for Fords?>>>

They make 3 different bypasses. These 3 bypasses will cover most of your 2002/2003 Ford/Lincoln/Mercury vehicles. They are made by Code Alarm for Ford and are branded with the Ford logo as a "Securilock" kit or bypass. These are needed to be installed at Ford Dealerships for Ford warranties on the remote starts (which code alarm also makes for Ford) etc and the fact that they don't want keys in the dash..

1L2Z-19G365-AB - This bypass will work for 2003 Taurus/Sable, Ranger, Expedition and a bunch of others.

1L3Z-19G365-AB - This covers your 03 F-150, Excursion, & Mustang

1S4Z-19G365-AB - 03 Escape, Focus, Possibly the T-Bird I don't remember which one that uses offhand.

Hope that helps..
