I am putting a Crimestopper CS2011RS alarm/starter in and it only has an input for one sensor (other then doors/hood/trunk etc) which is the Dual Stage Shock Protector it comes with, I want to put a Dual stage Perimeter Sensor on it (the cars a convertible) can I piggyback them so I have both? Yes you can piggyback the trigger wires as long as you diode isolate the trigger wires with a 1 amp diode. ------------- Jeff

Jeff: do you happen to have a diagram for diode isolating the trigger wires?

I don't have a diagram , but all you have to do is to splice the two wires together and just diode isolate ( cathode band towards the sensor ) one of the trigger wires from the other . ------------- Jeff

Thanks guys, I was going to order one of the interfaces from the site that lrciii listed (it would make a real clean intall) but they want $2.50 "processing fee" on top of their "minimum" shipping fee of $6.68 for a grand total of $12.73 for a $3.55 part, I think not. Does anyone else know where I can get this interface at a reasonable price? If not it looks like the diodes are the way to go. Thanks again, Randy rmn6@yahoo.com

Jeff, Here is a question I have to ask... If the sensors are positive output, I assume they can be paralleled (piggybacked) without the diode(s), correct? Jerry

Yes you can, but I would still diode isolate to be safe incase the current load is different from one device to the other. Make sure that the current load is the same otherwise it's safer to install a diode and save yourself money for sensor replacement and also saves in flase alarms where you won't get residual feedback from one sensor to the other. ------------- Jeff

I've done it several times without the diode. I've never had one returned for any sort of problem with it.
I never thought of the diode though. That is a good idea, just to be safe. Diodes are cheap so I will be adding them now. Thanks Velocity, good idea.
