New to the board, was referred from another board to here.

Anyway i have a new '03 GMC 2500HD with the Duramax/Allison diesel engine in it. I;m looking for a remote start with aux capibilty on the remote to pulse a relay for a high idle circuit, also looking for a one that has a security system within it also and would really like something with a LCD remote that tells vehicle status, IE running or not, locked or not armed or not. I looked a little bit into autopage's rs-750lcd and rs-850lcd systems, they look pretty good from the paperwork, but you know how that goes.....

Looking for advice on if these systems are any good or not, or what would be a nice system for this truck, I'm fairly open on price range as long as the system is worth it, if it performs I'm willing to pay for it! I'm in Rochester, NY and also wondering what kind of price range is fair for these types of remote start systems also and if anyone has some recommended installers in the rochester area with good work history.

Most installers will recommend DEI Viper 791XV, Python 881XP or Matrix 3.5 if you are looking for a two-way alarm remote start unit.

Also, can you explain what you mean by this:

If you just need a negative out when you push a button on the remote, practically every system out there has one.

explanation:

the GM diesels have high idle capabilty for warm up when a 12V source is applied to a certain ECU terminal, i have done that already, and then you simply hit the cruise control set/resume button on the turn signal stalk to increase the RPM of the trucks idle for warm up. So heres what i need when i get a remote start system

I need an auxilary channel of the remote start to provide a positive pulse to the cruise control set wire when you push the aux button. If these systems can only provide neg output then i would need it to pulse a relay instead that supplied 12V+. Having one that could output 12v+ without a relay would be simpler.

Just about every system pulses (-) on the aux. channels. Just use a relay to switch it to (+).
