Installing a alarm in a 89 Ford Probe. It has power locks already and my alarm has built in relays for the door locks the problem is I can get them to lock but not unlock. Looked behind the switch and it shows 2 wires green and black for lock and white and green for unlock however the diagram on this site says green and black for both lock and unlock. tried everything even hooked into the grren and white unlock wire but they will not unlock. my alarm has a blue/white for lock and grren/white for unlock. also had BROWN / blue and BROWN / green and also ORANGE / blue and orange /green. tried every combination you can think with hook these wires to ground and 12v. please help

ahh, the old Probe 1-wire locking system.

FORD, PROBE, 1989, Power Lock - GREEN/ black, drivers kick panel

Lock requires a positive trigger. Unlock requires a positive trigger through a 4,700 ohm resistor. Must use relays for both lock and unlock.

Try This:

Get 2 relays

on both relays, 85 and 87 get 12V
86 gets (-) lock output from alarm on relay #1
86 gets (-) unlock output from alarm on relay #2
30 on relay #1 goes to GREEN/ Black wire in Probe
Take 4.7k ohm resistor and go from 30 on relay #2 to GREEN/ Black wire.

87A not used.

ROFLOL! I know, who invented that dang system anyway!? Like the new dodges and their lights. Whats wrong with good ol' neg/pos triggers?

Will it still work if i use 2 realys with a resistor even though my alarm has door lock relays built in to it?

If your alarm has onboard relays, just hook it up the same way as external relays, same thing man.
