Sounds like your siren has a bad ground? Try a better ground see if that works.

Yep either bad siren ground or bad alarm ground, one of the 2.

Bad siren or bad siren wire connection or bad alarm 12V constant.

If it is as soon as you hook it up with out actually triggering the alarm, then it is either a problem with the alarm itself, or is wired wrong.  If it is sounding real faint, first thing I would do is make sure it is hooked to the correct output wire, and then try to trigger the alarm to see if it goes off at the correct sound level.  If you have double checked all this, and you are sure that it is not a bad ground, then consider the the idea that you have probably got a bad box.

hey take the siren and touch the power and ground leads directly to the battery, if its not loud then you have a bad siren.  if it is loud then you have something hooked up wrong.   check the ground of your alarm brain itself.  if it comes loose, then the siren will do that, it will go off but you can barely hear it.  at least mine did that, the ground came out and the siren did some weird stuff.  i replaced the ground and it was fine.  so try that.
