Pleas help!!   I am installing a crimestopper alarm/autostart. I am using the 555h bypass module. I have tried several times to program the keys and the car just keeps cranking. The led nevers goes out on the module, so I wasn't shure if it was learning the code. After about two hours of trying to program any of the three keys I had no luck. I tried the auto start one more time and it started, so I shut it off and tried several times again and it wouldnt start again. I read in the manual that it suggests soldering the wires could this be my problem.

Are you using the BLACK key to program the module ? As well, YES solder all wires to the data and synch wires. If the power or ground wires are not soldered, then solder them and try to reprogram the module again with the black key ONLY.

I also was wondering if I have to bypass the factor alarm. sometimes when you disarm the alarm the factory alarm starts beeping the horn. I was under he impressin that the facory alarm was disarmed withe he unlock wire. If nit let me know how to solve the problem? Thanks Jeff.

Man !! Don't get me started on that OEM security !! I just tried doing an '03 EXL and it was a nightmare to say the least. I got everything done except the OEM disarm wire ( that doesn't UNLOCK the doors ). All the wiring diagrams say it's a BLUE wire at the door module but on the '03 it also unlocks the door. You can try it on the '01 and see if this helps you.
