I was just wondering what the going rate is for a remote start security bypass.  My company wants to lower our labor rate and I could use some input on an average charge.  We currently charge $50 labor plus the part which is around $30 give or take.  Please help - the man is bringing me down!

I asked what the going rate on video installs was at another forum, and my post was closed because it could be considered "price fixing" posted_image

Anyways, my shop charges $50 on most of them, and that includes the bypass module. This is for Chryslers, GM passlock and passkey, Ford PATS, Honda. On vehicles where a spare key is used, we charge $45.

$40 dollars for the parts and labor on any bypass - DEI of coarse, and no additional charge for passkey.  Maybe we don't charge enough?

ahh...these are american prices.  transponder bypass depends on the vehicle of course....simpler Passlock I/II cars hover in the $80 p/l cost  (cdn funds).  The more expensive the module is, the more expensive the bypass gets.  I would say that an average of $50 labour plus the part works out about right (again, CDN funds)
