I am looking to get a 2-way paging alarm. what are some good ones, and do any come with or support a proximity/radar motion sensor? i was looking at the crimestopper and the aladdin seems like a pretty good one for under 200 bucks. also, i hear some pager remotes have a delay on them and some are pretty much instant, which ones are the fastest to respond? thanks.

- Crimestopper
- Audiovox Prestige
- Aladdin a-2000
- Compustar
Look for ones that have lots of options and the ability to add more items at a later time ( window roll up, hood lock, extra sensors ) ------------- Jeff

I think the Delta Pro 2000 is just like all the rest of the same ones they sell on eBay..... not very good. They don't offer enough channels, poor customer support and cheap remote controls. I used to sell and install these and never again. ------------- Jeff

i was talking a friend of mine who's a alarm installer and he said don't get a pager one because they're all really low range and have a long delay. i'm sure this is true with some but are some good with this? also, he said if i had to have the pager, to get a python/viper alarm and get their addon for it, but this seems like a lot of extra money since they charge so much for everything.

It's up to you.... everyone has their own opinions on the systems ( biased or not ) out there. Do your research and see what YOU want as far as options and features. The added pager means an extra piece to carry around and also, means more installation time for the installer. If there is a delay in the 2 way systems.... it's not going to be 1 minute or 5 minutes or anything like that..... if your going to get a delay it will be seconds. ------------- Jeff

which have the best range? i was looking at the aladdin 2000 and it seems like a pretty good system. but i'm really worried about getting an alarm that won't do what i want, they all look really the same and i want one that i can add pretty much whatever i want to it (probably will want a 2-stage proximity sensor, remote start for a manual, window roll up and down, pager, multiple sirens, and i like that whole call your car and it will disable it thing). i don't think the aladdin would be able to do all this, or the crimestopper. the vipers have all the addons for this so i think that'll do it (although it would be really really expensive).

The Aladdin can do all of the above except the last feature that you described : " call your car and it will disable it thing . ------------- Jeff

I was in the market for the same sort of alarm (minus the remote start). I decided on the Compustar 2WFM. I pick it up tonight (so I cant offer any other info at the moment). its definately worth looking into. also check into their spread spectrum model. the 2WSS has a range of something like 1.25 miles.
