Hi, Great forum!  I just bought a 2001 Chevy Tracker with a Lynx Security system installed.  When I use the remote starter the engine doesn't shut off when I push the brake pedal.  The accessories shut off but not the engine.  The guy I bought the car from said the installer went out of business so I can't get any help from them.  I did go thru the installation manual and all the wires seem to be hooked up correctly to the vehicle.  Any ideas?

TIA, Tim in Rochester MI

The way the system is set up is when you go into the ready mode for remote start, that is it............... it will not require you enter the ready mode again. That means that when you get out of the car after it started, it will remain running until you close the last door. The system will auto shut off when it detects the last door closing. The system will shut off  if you enter the vehicle and just press the brake pedal without having the key in the ignition switch.

Thanks Jeff.  I think that part is working correctly.  My problem is that I think it should not go into ready mode if I shut off the key with my foot on the brake.  In other words, if I forget to put it in neutral and turn off the key and let out the clutch, the truck will lurch forward or backward and (hopefully) stall.  If I turn off the truck with my foot on the brake, the accessories turn off.  I would expect the engine to turn off also.  I hope this makes sense.
