i put an impulse 1010 alarm on a 2001 mustang (don't tell me i already know about impulse!) everything works well except when i connect the trunk trigger to make the alarm go off when the truck is open it sets itself off every 1/2 hour. when i disconnect it everythings ok. (it also does what its suppose to do set the alarm off when the trunk is opened.

any advice

thanks

I would try two things first diode isolate this wire if it is taped into your door trigger input. Second if its not, run it through a relay to isolate the alarm form the car. It's possible the GEM module is shutting down and causing this disturbance. Good luck.

Hey bub, here is what you do:

It may be necessary to also isolate trunk 12v (+) wire to prevent false triggers. At the R.K.E. find the 18ga. GREEN/ Red (+) wire and splice a diode in

line with the cathode facing the rear of the vehicle.

Tell me if it works out,I do it as a rule of thumb.I install on at least 10 a month and never have any problemsposted_image

hey dan or 12volt, so what is being said is don't use the trunk pin (BROWN / white) at all go to the r.k.e. (remote keyless entryposted_image) and use the green and red wire!
