Hi,

I have installed an alarm module that only has one output for the central locking. The output is held to ground when alarm is activated, and when alarm is disactivated, there is no ground or 12v on this output. How can I connect it to my central locking on my Toyota Corolla '99? I need a pulsed output, not an output that is held on, otherwise, when connected through a relay, it overrides the lock/unlock rocker switch in the car. Is there a way with relays to convert a held output into a pulsed output, or do I need a module with IC's?

what kind of unit are you installing? a wire going to ground when armed and disappearing when disarmed sounds like a starter-kill output to me man. lots of units don't have doorlock outputs. if upgraded to a unit that has doorlock outputs is too much cashola, perhaps a small add-on module that uses the wire you speak of (starter kill output) to provide lock and unlock pulses.

Maybe that's the problem. Does anyone know if such a module exists, and what the name of it is? Does anyone know where I would get such a module in Australia? Thanks.

The vehicle would have to have a single wire lock/uinlock in order for you to be able to do this ( like the new Hyundai vehicles ). I would just re-invest a new alarm system that has the separate door lock/unlock circuit and save yourself the integration problems of trying to find a module.

This is how you would hook up an alarm to factory c / locking if you need it to be fluxuating i.e neither and rest or +12V?

I hope this helps? It still maynot be what you need?
