I just bought a '94 GMC SIERRA with a command start 3000 plus in it but no remote.  I found a remote for it but I don't know how to program it.  The unit also has an alarm in it.  I would like to have a diagram for that unit.

The Command Start 3000 uses the same wiring as the 2400/2500 as well. To program the remote control you have:

  •  to open the hood
  • depress the hood pin switch
  • parking lights will turn on
  • at the same instant that the lights turn on, tap the hood pin switch lightly
  • the parking lights should stay on
  • count 4 seconds to make sure that tha lights are still on
  • press transmitter button I long enough to shut off the parking lights
  • the new remote is now programmed, close the hood

There is a jumper in the module brain ( JP1 ) ther eis only the one there, but I am not 100 % sure about if you need this to be moved. There will be no harm in moving this jumper if the position that it is in now doesn't work and you have to move it afterwards in order to program it. The jumper is just above the reset button on the bottom left of the casing.
