Can some tell me how to wire up a Viper alarm system to my horn. I have it wired up but the horn is on a continuous honk. Seems like the low current isn't high enough to set the flasher off. I am catching the horn wire at the fuse box relay.

Easiest way is to use two relays. First relay is going to be: First relay) 85-ground, 86-siren output from alarm, 30-ground, 87-output to 30 of relay 2. Second relay: 85-ground, 86-flashing parking light output from alarm, 30-output from relay 1, 87-negative output to horn. If you do it this way the the horn will honk when the siren is going off and the lights are flashing, the horn will sound with the light flash. Also depending on which Viper alarm you have you can program the siren to be chopped instead of constant. I think this is easier to do, plus I hate flashers.

Hey thanks man. I'll need to try that out. sounds like it should work. yea those flasher don't work well if there isn't enough current to push. I think i can make my siren sound chop by programming it. i'll have to try it

i forgot to ask. this will work for a horn that requires a neg signal to set off the horn right?

The way I described it will send out a negative trigger for the horn.

Sleeping siren/horn honk:

i hope this isn't too late, but here is another way to wire up your horn honk:[this way, the horn will only sound when the alarm is triggered and will not honk on arm/disarm]

you will still need 2 relays

relay 1.) take 86 and 87 to 12v constant. 85 goes to domelight supervision output (-) {on d.e.i. product, that is the BLACK/ white wire.} 30 goes to 86 input of relay 2.

relay 2.) 87 goes to ground. 30 goes to your horn wire. 85 goes to ground when armed output of alarm. {on d.e.i product, that is the orange wire.}

you must diode isolate the orange wire coming out of the starter kill relay.

cut orange wire in half, place a 1amp diode in-line w/the band facing away from the starter kill relay.

you want to make your connection (for pin 85 of relay 2) after the band side of the diode and the ground when armed wire coming from the alarm's brain. (orange) [between the band side and the brain]

if this is an alarm/remote start combo from d.e.i., you must also program the anti-grind off. if not, the horn will honk continuously when you hit disarm after the system has already been remote started.
