I've posted this request before and recieved no help. I can't imagine that there isn't a single person with a good idea about what I want to do. So I am reposting. I have a truck box that mounts on the bed behind the cab. You've all seen them and many of you have them. I am looking for a way to build an actuated locking mechanism for my box that would be controlled by my Keyless entry system (just as if it was one of the doors) that would lock the box from opening but still leave the factory lock cylinder operable. The actuator and manual keyed lock cylinder don't need to work together, but the lock cylinder needs to be left in tact. Anybody got any ideas? Let me know.

Thanks

Brad

Sounds like some fabrication involved.  I can imagine an actuator- to "dead bolt" the truck box.  You'd have to wire it to the door locks so it can be pulsed to lock and unlock like the doors on the truck.

Here is a piece of the equation!

How about using some type of power tailgate lock?
