I hope someone can help. I used this sites wiring instructions. OK so I will try to be detailed in my expaination.
I have a 1999 Hyundai Accent GS 4 door and an Autopage RS-650 Plus
I have not hooked up the alarm yet I was only in the install process when my problem started. I cut the brown and red wire on the coil which should go to the RPM guage ??. My car is now missing, chuging, knocking the whole works. So I cut the sliced wire and hooked the brown with red directly back to the coil. STILL runs like a bag of dirt. Can ANYONE help please. I do not want a $400 bill from HYUNDAI DEALER for all there Diagnostic computer stuff.
Thankyou
Cheers
Travis
When you reconnected the wires, did you solder them or just twisted them together ?

Soldered, Oh S**T should I not have done that........
Solderred in the way to go. If you just twisted them, then it may cause a conenction problem. Just make sure that you wrapped each of the wires you cut and make sure they are not touching each other in any way. Try disconnecting the battery for about 10 minutes and see if this helps you reset the ECM ( this may or may not work for the Hyundai ) but it's a cheap rememdy for the problem. Here is a link to the Hyundai technical papers and see if there's anything there that can help you:

I bought an ohm meter and tested the coil, checks out ok. Are there any ignition wires that power anything this is what I am going to check on next.
For the life of me I can not understand how cutting and resoldering a wire can cause so much greif.
I have retraced all connections and all have the power they should and no blown fuses.
Spliced the ignition wires all seem to be ok even the ones with relays....
AARRGGG
Well if any one know of anything else I can check please do let me know.
