I have an older alarm system on my truck...my remote has two buttons on it.  Only this first one works (left button) to arm/disarm the alarm.  What is the second button for??  And can it be used for anything??  If so, how do you program it??

Based on the wiring information you provided on your previous post, the second button is most likely to control a trunk pop feature. Most of the time this output will be activated by holding the button for a couple of seconds. The output will then send a negative signal for approximately one second(depending on system and program characteristics). I don't think there is a whole lot you could use it for on your truck, but if you get any crazy ideas, give a post.

The second button is for silent arm, trunk pop as stated above, and if you press the first and second button together you will activate channel two output on you alarm.

The alarm is a PATRIOT....who the hell that is..i dont know.....and i have found no one that has ever heard of it.  But it doesnt exist anymore........and the date in my remote says december 1995, so that should give you an idea.  I wasnt sure what i would use the second button for, and i dont really have any crazy ideas for it, i was just curious.  If I push both buttons, and activate channel two....what good is that??

If you are going to add a remote starter or drive anything else, it will give a 200mA negative output to drive a relay.
