What would cause a car to not be able to be shut down by remote after being remote started?
All other functions work, while car is not remote started, but when it is remote started and running, in order to shut it down, or unlock the doors to get in, you must put the remote right up to the antenna to get it to function...
Now, I thought it could be the battery in the remote, but both remotes have brand new batteries and both do the same thing...Could there be some kind of interference around the vehicle when it's running causing the remotes to not function from a distance? This problem just started today... Would moving the antenna to a new location help?
Also, remote starting it is no problem from any distance, these wierd remote problems only occur after being remote started.

I had the same problem. Here is what I did. If you are using a add-on remote starter, then you need to unplug the antenna from the add-on remote starter and use the one form the alarm, if not and if this is a one unit, t hen make sure that the natenna wire is ran at least 3 feet away from the igtinion.
