Hi. I'm about to embark on installing a remote start alarm into Mercedes ML 320. I have one tech-sheet that does not recommend a remote starter in this car. If anyone has done this car and can tell me what to look out for I'd appreciate it.

permanent transponder bypass.

We managed to blank out *cough, cough* 4 keys, before discovering that.

Go by a pick up coil for the transponder at your local merc. dealer ( about 100 $ ) disconnect the OEM one, splice yours in to the (2) wires and bury that sucker in the dash.

the rest is pretty simple after that.

Your probably referring to the fact that the keys will delete themselves and need to be reprogrammed. I believe it happens if there are two keys at the ignition cy;inder at the same time. This happens when you remote start the car and then insert another key to take over the vehicle.
At the least, get a transponder bypass that has a keysense shut off wire. Its also been suggested that you have the door trigger connect to a shutdown input on the remote start so when you open the door to get in, the remote start shuts down.. Yes, you will have to start the vehicle again by key once you get inside, but its better than having the keys get deprogrammed and having to tow it to Mercedes.
