I recently purchased a 2000 Ford Expedition that has an Astrostart 1100 remote starter installed in it. The starter was working properly at the time of purchase but has since stopped. The remote starter seems to start the engine but the engine starter seems to stay engaged until the engine shuts down. This process takes about 5 to 6 seconds. I checked into the transponder bypass and that seems to be working properly, the vehicle theft light stays on for 3 seconds prior to the remote start attempt. Does this sound like a programming problem? I have the operation manual but not the install manual for adusting the crank time. Does anyone have one or have any ideas what my problem may be?

Yeah you wont find the install manual at their website. You can try this link:
It does sound like the tach is not right. But perhaps the problem is the tach wire. it may have been disconnected somehow. Have you ever had the vehicle serviced or anything done under the hood?
You should be able to take it back to where you got it installed though like CK said.
