Hi Guys and Gals, I was just in the process of hooking up driving lights in my 2001 Nissan Sentra XE when I noticed there are already wires on both sides of the car where the factory fog light slots are. I was wondering can I use these wires?. Do you think they are already pre wired from the factory and maybe just need a fuse installed in the fuse box to get power. And if so, what turns them on in a Nissan Sentra, is it the same switch as the head lights????
THANKS!!!!!
You can use these wires if you want, however the switch for them you will need to get from Nissan. It will go into a prewired harness that is probably behind a factory knock out panel in the dash. I do not know if it has a factory relay with it. Your best bet is to install your lights without using the factory wiring so as to ensure that the lights have the proper amount of current via a relay with the proper switch to trigger the relay. I don't know about the legalities of your driving lights where you are but here in BC a driving light is only to work in conjunction with your high beams. If you have fog lights then (here anyhow) they are to be switched on only with lowbeams in inclement weather or separate from your headlights altogether. Check with your local RCMP office for advice regarding the motor vehicle act in your area. On VI some of the officers will pull you over and ticket you for having them hooked up incorrectly $115.00 (this I know)

Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.
Hi, thanks for the reply. I was reading the car manual and it does say that the lights if equiped would only work with low beams. If there is a relay, were would it usually be?? or I guess I will just have to trace the wires.
