I really dont see much point in posting this thread since there is really not much hope. At least that is how I always feel when I get a customer who calls me and says their range has all of a sudden dramatically been reduced to a few feet, maybe 50 or so. New batteries in the transmitter dont help and the only other things I can think of are to straighten the antenna cable to make sure there are no kinks, or the obvious - replace the antenna cable, the receiver, the transmitter or all of the above.

I havent had a problem with this brand yet, so I was wondering if anyone had anything that might help, or had any experience with the Directstart 423 starters and their range.

Hey J, replace the antenna body ( not the cable ) where the dipole is attached to. I had this happen to a customer's car where it took about 3 weeks for the same thing to happen. I got warranty on the antenna and replaced with a replacement and presto........... the range went back to normal, about 700 - 900 feet.
