hey gang, is there a way to identify alarm modules? a cust came by and she had just bought a jeep cherokee and she wanted me "fix" her alarm. well as it turns out the jeep has a stock (seems to be at least) alarm system, and an aftermarket unit installed that has remote start, shck sensors, horn, the works, but no identifying marks, no brand name, no anything...so my question is how to identify it so that i'd be able to order a new transmitter for it? 1997 Jeep cherokee

There may be manufacturer id on the main circuit board. Look at the remote control she has, do some surfing and see if you can find one like it. Hope this helps.

good answer...but i've already thoroughly inspected the ckt board, and even did a xreff on the partnumbers used, and nothing. i was just trying to find out what kind of alarm it is so that i could order the remotes for it. it's become a pain in the rear !!!
