Adding a alarm/remote start to a 99 Olds Bravada. after everything was done and i was testing the remote start i noticed that the dash lights and the instruments (tach/batt voltage/engine temp) were not working. Was wondering if anyone had any ideas.
Also on this same SUV, having a problem with the interior lights. when i lock the car, the lights come on, even if they were off, any ideas?

Do you have both ignitions hooked-up, and is it when u lock the vehicle with the switch or r/s. Which lights are coming on in the inside? -------------

Yes, both ignitions are hooked up. Any time the engine is started the gagues do not work, including tach, temp, etc... Is there any way the passlock system could be doing this?
The interior lights stay on all the time. Whether you have the doors shut, car locked with the remote, manually...

What wire do you have the parking lights hooked to? And is it + or - output from the remote start unit? ------------- Hak

the parking lights are hooked up to the brown wire in the light blue plug at the BCM.
something else i just saw, i had information that this car has (+) door locks can you can get the wires at the BCM. however i just saw (for a different source) that it has 5 wire and you need to get the wires in the driver kick pannel. could this be the problem?

fixed the problem with the lights
and i think i fixed the problem with the gages. i think the problem was that the tach wire was wrong, even though i used the wire that DEI said to use and it tested right. ewverything is working again now that i cut that wire. So, now i need a new place for a tach wire, any ideas?

is it the 2.2L or 4.3L that makes a diff in its location The PCM is located on the passenger fender. On the 2.2L the wire is in a black 80 pin plug pin 10, and on the 4.3L the wire is in a red 32 pin plug pin 20.. That's what I got. Try using an injector wire if you can reach it.

It is the 4.3L, and I had that info as well...excpet that the wire is not there. Unfortunatly you can not go to an injector on this car because it has a singal internal injector.

hmm weird that the note i had when working on this truck... i can't exactly remember if this was a coil pack system, another search turned up white at the coil... but not sure about that one. You can try some of the wires at the back of the cluster if it has a tach... I'm at a lost... i would try near the coilpack if there is one. I remember it being there at the PCM... just a lotta wires.... Well if all else fails, you can break out a chilton or haynes manual and look there.

Try the yellow wire on connector C1 pin 31 off the ECM. This is the 3X crankshaft sensor signal wire. Should work. ------------- Hak
