I looked up my wiring diagram and it has an "ignition" wire and "ignition 2" wire.  What is "ignition 2".  It is on a toyota landcruiser 1996.

thanks!

It is a second wire  that needs to be powered up for remote start.  It requires voltage during and after cranking.  Most remote starts have outputs for IGN1 and IGN2 or programable to do so.

Usually a second or even a third ignition is used to power different computers or electronic equiptment.

The wiring info for my Cavalier, depending on the source shows 1 OR 2 wires:
"2000 Chevrolet Cavalier Security Information
Ignition 2 White Ignition Switch Harness PCM and Cluster"

I could not find this wire, and therefore didn't hook anything up to it. The remote starter works fine without it. Would this second ignition wire be getting powere from somewhere else? Should I be concerned?

Thanks in advance...

Your info is wrong, 2000 cavalier doesn't have a second ignition(transmision) wire, but i do power up the brown wire(accessory) on those cars just because it turns all the lights on on the dash and there are no complaints form customers. But thats just me.

I heard someone else mention a brown wire, but out of my ignition there is no brown wire...

But another thing I don't like is the fact the radio is always on. ESPECIALLY after the car turns off! Can this be disabled?

Thanks again!
