Hi, I've installed a ProStart CT3100 in my 2001 Sunfire. I'm experiencing problems where it stops immediately after remote start. One diagnostic I read, referred to possibly not having enough voltage on the tach wire. One post referred to connecting to the PURPLE / white wire (ref signal) which is where I'm connected and another referring to the white wire (ignition crtl 1-4) of the PCM. I also read another referring to connecting to any of the injector control wires. :errr: Anyone know where I should be connecting this purple wire?

Is the bypass module necessary if not installing keyless entry feature?

Any help or information would be greatly appeciated. Thx in advance.

your car has a passlock 2 anti theft syatem which needs a bypass to start and run proper the best and easiest to install as a PLDATA about $30-35 and youll be startin

Thx tj. Any idea about the tach wire? PURPLE / white or solid white? Most documentation I've seen refer to the solid white but I've seen someone in this forum specify the PURPLE / white.

The WHITE is a cleaner signal than the PURPLE / WHITE. Go for the WHITE wire for sure on this vehicle.

Would that be a dealer item or any auto electonic shop?

just use the DEi part number 555L.  works perfect and programs its self after you start it with a key.  and as far as a tach wire, i always go to an injector.  use the non common wire of all the injector.  i did it on my cavalier and the last couple dozen RS units ive done.
